Club notes 15/04/2018

Our under 14 Boys gave a spirited and skilful performance in their division 2 league game against Kilglass Gaels / St Barry's on Thursday last in Ardcarne Park. Both sides produced scores of the highest quality in a very entertaining and competitive contest which was only decided in the final few minutes in favour of the visitors.

Our Minors played our neighbours  Boyle in the Division 3 League on Friday last. This was a very entertaining game played between two fully committed sides. After both sides traded points in the first half, Boyle scored a goal on the stroke of half time to leave them ahead 1-6 to 0-4. St Michael's started the second half well and scored a fine goal through Fiachra Henry. Both teams continued to score good points and St Michael's went ahead by a point as the intensity of the game increased. However, a couple of points by the visitors left them ahead at the end on a full time score of 1-11 to 1-8. This was a great team effort by all the lads which just came up short and on another day the scoreline may have been different. Team: M.Reynolds, J.Doherty O Brien, R.Gillespie, B.O Dowd, J.Harte (0-1) D.Regan (0-1), S.Blackwell (0-1), N.Sheerin (0-2) A.Tiernan, F.Henry (1-3) A.McGlynn, A.Chilton, M.Heslin. Subs S.Burke, D.McGlynn, D.McDermott, L.Kearns, A O Connor.

The u12s started their Division 3 Spring League campaign on Saturday morning last away to St Croans. All of the panel put in a great team effort for their first outing of the year. Final score St Croans 0-14 St Michael's 0-7. We are having a trainers meeting at 7:45 on Monday 23rd April next in the complex. We would like to see representation from all management groups there as discussions on the year to date and the upcoming championships will affect all teams and we would like everyone to be heard. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Congratulations to all the children and their families who made their communion and confirmation this weekend.
