Club notes 18/03/2018
Our senior team meet St Dominic’s at home in
Ardcarne Park on Sunday the 25th at 12pm in the Tansey Cup! Please
show your support.
Hard luck to our Division 3 minors who were beaten by
Tulsk in challenging conditions on St Patrick’s Day, Training continues on
Thursday at 8pm.
U6 (6.30) and U8 (7.15) training continues on Friday
in the complex.
U16 girls play a home game on Monday the 19th
at 12pm and our U12 girls play away to Ballinameen on Sunday evening.
The Club Lotto continues next Sunday the 25th
March with the draw taking place in the Bogside and Padraig Hunts team in
charge. Please support. Jackpot is €3000.00.
Congratulations to new up and coming local band “The
Flies” who played their debut local gig in Henry’s pub on Sunday the 18th
of March. They were excellent and we are sure it won’t be the last we hear of
them. Great achievement.
2018 is a significant
year for St. Michael's GAA Club. We have a double celebration marking both the
40th and 25th anniversaries, respectively, of our club winning the Roscommon
Junior Championship Finals of 1978 and 1993. We are commemorating both these
milestones in our history in a special way with a celebratory function in the
Bush Hotel, Carrick on Shannon on Saturday 31st March. St. Michael's has
grown in strength in recent years with much needed new and improved facilities
in Ardcarne Park which continue to assist in developing and promoting our games
for girls and boys in the future. Our social night on the 31st March is an
ideal opportunity for all our community to renew old acquaintances and
meet new members of our community who are always welcome in St.
Michael's. Any winning silverware in the parish should be fondly
remembered as we honour these two winning teams of the past and the
individuals involved for their dedication and commitment to our club both on
and off the field.
Special guests on the night along with a surprise guest of TV fame will guarantee a night NOT to be missed. Your presence and support would be appreciated. Tickets available from local public outlets and club officers (Price €40 includes 4 course meal and dancing till late!) Thank you
