Update 5/3/17

Congratulations: The pride of the club this week goes to Diarmuid Regan  who received his Ted Webb shield winners medal and Fr. Manning Cup winners medal from Liam Mc Hale and Kevin Mc Stay at the county board underage medal presentation in the Abbey hotel on Saturday night. The Ted Webb shield and Fr. Manning cup were won by Roscommon under 16s in 2016 under the management of Stephen Sheeran. Well done to all involved.

Membership: There will be a registration and membership evening at the Complex this  Friday 10th March from 6.30 to 8.00pm. Membership for 2017 is as follows: Family €70; Adult €50; Student €30. Annual lotto membership can be purchased at a reduced fee of €40 if bought on the night. All players from underage to senior must be paid up members before they can be allowed to play for the club.

Intermediate: St. Michael's play neighbours St. Ronan's in the second round of the Tansey Cup at Ardcarne Park next Sunday 12th March at 2.00pm.

Junior: The junior team play St. Faithleach's in the division 5 league at Ardcarne Park on St. Patrick's Day at 12pm.

Minor: Last Sunday's minor game against Michael Glavey's fell victim to the recent spate of bad weather and will be played at a later date.

Under 16: Our under 16 boys play Ballinameen/Elphin in the division 2 league next Sunday at Ardcarne Park at 11am.

Ladies GAA: Following the postponement of their first game the under 16 girls play St. Ciaran's next Sunday at Ardcarne Park at 4.30pm.

Lotto: There was no winner of the club lotto draw which was held on 5th March. Numbers drawn were 1,20, 23, 24. Winners of the envelope draw for €20 each were David Nugent, Rooskey, Jim Harte, Knockvicar, John Sharkey, Cootehall, Thomas Morahan, Cootehall and David Noone, Corrigeenroe. The jackpot is now €7,900 and the next  draw will be held on 19th March. Remember, you have to be in it to win it!

Schools: Well done to Roisin Henry who was part of the Carrick-on-Shannon Community School team which won the Connacht under 14 schools title on Tuesday.

Basketball:  Best of luck to Ardcarne under 11 mixed and under 13 boys basketball teams in the county finals next Saturday.

Sympathy: The club extends sympathy to the family of the late Mary Mc Quaid, Boyle. May she rest in peace.
