Update 6/11/16

First mention this week is that of congratulations to the Roscommon under 16 team and management led by St. Ronan's man Stephen Sheeran, on an impressive performance in winning the Fr. Manning Cup at Pearse Park, Longford by beating Kildare on Saturday. The club is especially proud to have Diarmuid Regan on the winning panel.

Picture above shows some of the prizes which can be won for as little as €2 in the St. Michaels GAA Club Holiday & Fuel Draw. L to R: Jenny Bruen, (chairperson St. Michael's), Paddy Farrell, (Stewarts Oil sponsor), Padraig Hunt, (treasurer), Brian Lee, (Draw Co-ordinator), Geraldine McMorrow, Joe Tansey, (Green Belt sponsor), Nuala O'Hara.  There will be a Holiday & Fuel draw meeting each Monday from 8 - 9pm for the next few weeks. Anyone willing to get involved is welcome.

Are you starting to think of Christmas presents already? Why not consider some of the following which are available from St. Michael's GAA, contact Jenny @ 087 6811655: St. Michaels 75 year Anniversary Book (just a few left), Annual lotto membership, or St. Michael's jerseys and clothing which are available direct from www.oneills.com.

Congratulations to Mark Mc Cabe and his father Jim Mc Cabe, (formerly Derrynasoo) on winning the Meath county football championship with their club Simonstown. Jim was  part of the backroom team. They beat Kells in the semi-final with whom Seamus Mattimoe's son was playing (formerly Rockingham).

Our under 13 boys played their division 1 FĂ©ile semi-final against St. Brigid's on Sunday last in Kilbride. With a strong gale at their backs in the first half, St. Brigids built up a significant lead by half time. However, the Michael's lads never gave up and with some good link play, they got some good scores in the second half and ended up losing on a scoreline of 2-05 to 7-09. The future is bright for this young team.

Our under 14s are due to play Castlerea in the Garda Cup on Saturday next in Ardcarne Park.

There will be a Minor Committee meeting on Thursday at 8.30pm.
