Our under 16 boys have reached the final of the division 4 championship and will face Kilglass/Barrys or Western Gaels.

The under 14 boys had a busy week on the playing field starting with a loss to St. Aidan's in Ballyforan but our lads bounced back from that defeat to beat St. Dominics in Knockcroghery on Thursday. That means they finish joint second in the division 2 championship and will now play Roscommon Gaels in the semi-final on Thursday.

The under 12's are also in a final. Next Saturday they will play St. Ciaran's in Castlerea in the division 2 Shield decider.

The under 14 girls were beaten by a stronger St. Croan's on Friday last.  Thanks to the panel of girls  Aoife Guckian, Tori Monahan,  Leanne Hennessy, Niamh Reynolds, Roisin  Henry, Emma Benson, Tara Earley, Edel Gallagher, Amy Gallagher, Amy Tiernan, Ailbhe Wrynn, Isobel Neary,  Aoibhinn O Dowd, Laura Martin, Katie Corcoran,  Aine Harte, Leah Lynch Dolan, Chloe Cooney,   Niamh Clancy, Saoirse Rowan, Cara  Monahan.  Management Kevin Guckian, Tommy Daly,  Joan Tiernan and Breda Martin.

The under 10 girls had an enjoyable match against St Ronans under 10 girls on Thursday last and the under 12 girls play Gortetteragh on Wednesday next in Gortletteragh.

Well done to Edel  Gallagher,  Amy Tiernan, Amy Gallagher, Leah Lynch Dolan and Aine Harte who represented Roscommon in the under 13 and under 15 connacht blitz in the centre of excellence.

Update 04/09/16

Our Intermediate team drew with Kilglass Gaels away in the league on Saturday evening. They are out again next weekend in a Championship relegation playoff against Clan na Gael.  That match will be played at Ardcarne Park on Saturday evening at 6pm so please support.

The St. Michael's/St. Ronan's minor team bowed out of the Division 3 championship when Boyle converted a 13 metre free in what was the last kick of the game on Thursday evening to draw the game, unfortunately a draw wasn't enough to see us through to the semi-final. Michaels/Ronans had beaten Michael Glaveys in Ballyfarnon on Tuesday evening. Thanks to both clubs, supporters, team management and players.

The under 14 boys play away to St. Dominics this Thursday at 7pm in the division 2 championship.

Well done to our under 6's, 8's and 10's who travelled to Leitrim Gaels for a round of friendly matches on Friday evening. Thanks to Leitrim Gaels.

Thanks to all who supported the ladies county GAA 50/50 draw. Our under 14 girls had a very busy week with a good win over Kilglass Gaels but lost out to St. Faithleach's on Saturday evening in Ballyleague. They have their quarter final on Friday next when they will take on either St. Croan's or Oran away. We have a number of tikets available for the ladies All-Ireland final in Croke Park.

The lotto draw was held on Sunday night with no jackpot winner and no match 3 winner so 5 winners of €20 each were: Maureen Meehan, John Hogan, Seamus Sweeney, Michael Mc Gonigle and Maureen Horan. The next draw will be held in Tara Marina and Ann Cox's team will be on duty.

Plans are now at an advanced stage for a club social function on October 1st to mark the Club's 75 year anniversary. There will be a full bar on the night with entertainment provided by the Looney Hoppers. Tickets costing €10 each will go on sale soon.

The Club extends it's sympathy to the Keane family, Ardcarne on their recent bereavement.

Update 28/8/16

It proved to be a successful week on the playing field for our teams with the most important win coming from the Intermediates when they beat Clann na Gael at Enfield on Saturday evening in the fourth round of the championship, however both teams must meet again in a relegation playoff in a couple of weeks.

Well done to all our under 8s and under 10s who travelled to the Connacht Centre of Excellence on Saturday to take part in the County Roscommon Go Games blitz. Once again thanks to the parents who travelled.

The under 12s had a busy week meeting Oran twice, in the division 2 league. On Monday St. Michaels came out on top but lost out to Oran in the semi final playoff at Ardcarne Park on Sunday. They will now have to play St. Ciarans in the shield final.

The under 14 boys play their next division 2 championship match away to St. Aidans on Monday 5th September.

The under 16 boys had an early trip to Ballinlough on Sunday morning but it was worth the journey as they came away with a hard earned three point win over Michael Glaveys.

The minors are out twice this coming week, on Tuesday they are at home to Michael Glaveys and away to Boyle on Friday.

The under 14 girls play Kilglass on Wednesday at 7.30pm in Ardcarne Park and on Saturday they travel to Ballyleague to play St. Faithleachs at 6.30pm.

Best of luck to our girls who are taking part in the under 13 and under 15 county development squads on Saturday.

This is the last week for entry into the 50/50 draw with the first draw on 4th September. There are still some tickets available so please support and thanks to those who have already bought or shared tickets.

Best of luck to all children who return to and, in some cases, start school and college this week.

The club extends its sympathy to the O'Dowd family, Cootehall on their recent bereavement.
